Team Zimbabwe will leave the country this weekend ahead of the tournament that will be held from the 22nd-27th of this month.

The Southern Region was grouped into two sub-zonal groups, with Zimbabwe in the Zone VI B group together with Angola, Zambia, Namibia and the hosts Malawi.

Group B comprises of Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa and Lesotho.

The top three nations in each group qualify for the next stage.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport Ndlovu said he was optimistic that they would qualify for the next stage.

“We still have a long way before we talk of the World Cup because we need to go through various qualifiers from sub-zonal, zonal, continental, then the World Cup, but we are confident that we are going to sail through,” he said.
