ZIMBABWE international striker Nyasha Mushekwi is close to sealing a move to Belgian Jupiler League side KV Oostende with the players’ representative and the club set to conclude personal terms for the player tomorrow.

Ralph Nkomo, who represents the player and a number of African international stars, said KV Oostende had been impressed by the Mamelodi Sundowns striker after he scored the second goal on Sunday as the Belgian side beat Eendracht 3-0.

The former Caps United striker was expected to play again yesterday against RWDM Brussels.

But Nkomo said yesterday the club had already been impressed by the towering striker and they had since opened negotiations for personal terms for the player.

He said they would conclude the negotiations tomorrow (Thursday) after which the club would then start negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns who own the player.

“Nyasha is doing very well. They have been impressed already after he scored in one of the matches. He says training there is harder than here but he is coping. We are now opening negotiations for personal terms of the player and we should finalise everything by Thursday.

The two clubs will then start their own negotiations,” said Nkomo. Mushekwi’s contract with Mamelodi Sundown expired at the end of last season but the Brazilians exercised the one-year option contained in one of the clauses of the deal.

Should he join the club, Mushekwi will link up with fellow Zimbabweans Ovidy Karuru, Honour Gombami, Cephas Chimedza and Vusa Nyoni who are plying their trade in that country.

Meanwhile, Khama Billiat has returned from his trial with Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, and is believed to be back in training with Ajax Cape Town.

Billiat, who is high on the wish list of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, is now back in Cape Town and awaiting an answer from Moscow.

Soccer Laduma reported last week that Billiat had been flown to Russia by Lokomotiv where he spent the week on trial. Ari Efstathiou, of Ajax Cape Town, explained to the Siya crew that he is still waiting on word from Lokomotiv, but expects an answer from the Russian giants later today (yesterday).

Efstathiou told Soccer-Laduma, “We are still waiting to hear from them, but we are hoping to get an answer today (yesterday). At the moment it’s still unclear on exactly where we stand with Khama. There isn’t anything else we can do until we hear from them.”

Both Sundowns and Pirates will be monitoring the situation closely, with both clubs keen on landing the talented winger ahead of the new season.
