ORCHESTRA Mberikwazvo dancer Selemani Mpochi aka Majuice has lost his one-year-six-months-old son, Yusuf.

Majuice confirmed the sad news to NewsDay yesterday.

He said the late child sired with wife Latoya Guvheya succumbed to asthma.

“He was asthmatic and we never thought it would take him away,” said Mpochi.

Yusuf died at a local clinic in Kambuzuma, where the nimble footed dancer lives together with his wife.

The sad news came as Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo group is bracing for another busy weekend starting off with a show at Pamuzinda Highway Escape tomorrow.

Majuice, who has established himself as a dependable dancer and loyal to Macheso, said although the sad occurrence has brought grief to him and his family, he would have recovered by the time Macheso descends on Pamuzinda for what is likely to be the pick of this weekend’s entertainment diary.

“It is painful, but this will not hold me back from putting up a good show at Pamuzinda on Friday,” he said.

Majuice was thrust into the deep-end after he replaced Franco Slomo as Macheso’s lead dancer and appears to be faring well so far.
