CHIEF Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku yesterday swore into office four presidents of the Labour Court, a move meant to augment the current establishment

CHIEF Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku yesterday swore into office four presidents of the Labour Court, a move meant to augment the current establishment of the Labour Court judges, in the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). REPORT BY CHARLES LAITON

The new presidents sworn into office were Fatima Chakupamambo Maxwell, Evangelista Kabasa, Rodgers Foroma Manyangadze and Lawrence Masimba Murasi.

Chief Justice Chidyausiku said the establishment of the Constitutional Court had created a vacuum at the High and Supreme Courts after judges were appointed to the newly-established court.

“The reason for appointing new judges is to meet the increased number of the judges following the creation of the new court which has seen movement of judges from Labour Court to the High Court and to the Supreme Court after a number of judges were moved to the new court,” Justice Chidyausiku said.
