The musician, who is a member of the Zimpraise group, is younger sister to the late gospel sensation Jackie Madondo of the Mazuva Acho hit.

The 27-year-old songbird, who was also a backing vocalist for Jackie, said the album marks the beginning of greater things to come and confirmed that she included some of the songs which were written by her sister Jackie.

“I feel like it’s the beginning of great things and I thank God for He is faithful and just. I could have released the album last year, but God knew the right time. I included the song Mazuva Acho by my late sister as a tribute to her. I also included a medley of her songs from the last album she did before she passed on and I hope this will go a long way in bringing back memories to her legion of fans,” she said.

The album, produced at Extol Studio, comprise songs like Come Now, Jesu, Mandiri, Miracles and Zvinoda Wamuziva among others.

The launch was attended by musicians Sebastian Magacha, Pastor Haisa and the Zimpraise team.

Mabel’s album is indeed powerful enough to refresh memories of Jackie.

Jackie, who died in 2004 at the age of 23, was a promising gospel artist whose music career was cut short by a car accident. Her combination with Ivy Kombo was a marvel as the two won the hearts of many during their time.

Mabel survived the accident which claimed her sister’s life.
