The incident occurred on Tuesday at house number 3803 New Ingezi, Kadoma.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara said on June 11, the complainant Musaidi Mingo was having problems opening the doors of her automatic car which was parked in her carport.

She then decided to flag down passing motorists so they could render help.

A “Good Samaritan” who was driving a silver Toyota Ipsum registration number ABO1927 with a female passenger on board then stopped. The driver, a male adult, then offered to assist Mingo open the doors to her car which was yet to be registered.

After gaining access into the car, the man then insisted he wanted to take the car for a test drive as it could have developed electrical faults which were causing doors not to open.

Mingo obliged and the man drove off and never returned, abandoning his Toyota Ipsum at the complainant’s residence.

Police suspect the abandoned car could also have been stolen. The matter was reported to Kadoma Central who attended the scene, but no recovery was made. Investigations into the matter are in progress.
