The rapper/singer/“American Idol” judge is in final talks to join a Cameron Diaz comedy called The Other Woman, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As the title suggests, Diaz plays a woman in a relationship who discovers that she’s actually the mistress.

Leslie Mann plays the wife whose husband (Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is two-timing both ladies, and Mann’s character teams up with Diaz’s to get revenge.

It gets messier: Kate Upton plays the husband’s other lover, and her character soon joins in on the plot to get back at him.

Minaj will portray Diaz’s “opinionated assistant,” who’s on her third marriage herself.

While it’s the star’s first live-action film role, she has appeared in a movie before: she voiced Steffie in Ice Age: Continental Drift.

The Notebook helmer Nick Cassavetes is directing The Other Woman, which expects to begin filming in New York in late spring/early summer.
