TSHWANE — Pitso Mosimane says his side must still win their last South African  Premiership league football match on Saturday to make sure of a top eight place even though they are up to eight place after their win over Orlando Pirates.

Mosimane says Sundowns are desperate for points in their last match against Bidvest Wits at home in Atteridgeville on Saturday.

“We are still desperate for points. My team and supporters deserve a top eight place,” said Mosimane.

The club moved up to eighth place in the league standings after grabbing an injury time winner over Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

“We have to win the last one. We sneaked it at the end against Pirates. The irony is that we always suffer at set pieces, but this time we scored from one.” Defender Alje Schut scored in the 93rd minute with a swooping header from a free kick.

“It was a much better performance from us, we played a very strong team who kept us in check,” added Mosimane.

Sundowns have staged a mini revival to get back into top eight contention with 10 goals in their last three league matches — all won by the club against Maritzburg United, Black Leopards and Pirates.
