Reverend Reuben Mabhena was yesterday said to be in the intensive care unit at Mater Dei Hospital.

Mabel Moyo, the chairperson of the church’s main committee, confirmed the incident.

“He was just about to conclude his message when he suffered a massive stroke,” she said.

“It was really bad, but he is currently at the hospital and in a stable condition. No one was expecting such a thing to happen.” Church elders removed Mabhena from the pulpit and immediately took him to hospital.

“He is an energetic, strong and charismatic preacher and no one expected that to happen,” Moyo said.

Mabhena has been a pastor at the branch since the late 1980s.
