POPULAR gospel musician and keyboard wizard Munyaradzi Munodawafa has reconciled with his wife Fellistas Shumba following their separation in January this year.

Report by Jairos Saunyama

The musician left his matrimonial home in Runyararo West, Masvingo, after his wife found out that he was having an illicit affair with another woman.

This did not go well with Shumba, who also responded by taking Munodawafa’s musical instruments, including his favourite keyboard, leaving the Zodzo hitmaker with an uphill task of holding shows without a full kit.

When asked about the affair, the award-winning musician admitted that he was having an extra marital affair.

In an interview, Munodawafa confirmed the reconciliation.

“We are together again. We sat down and settled our differences and I am happy that all is well now.

“We had a problem and I admit that I wronged.

“All I can say is we reunited and we are a happy family,” he said.

The partially blind musician has a two-year-old daughter with Shumba and they are currently living in Sisk, Masvingo.

However, the 24-year-old Munodawafa also has an older daughter with another woman from his first marriage.

Munodawafa was born in 1988 and many will remember him as the young boy who mesmerised gospel music fans with his keyboard playing skills and his hit song Shandisa Chipo Chako at live shows.

He released his first album Mwari Anoona in 1998 at the age of 10.

Munodawafa went to the United States in 1999 where he spent some years before returning to Zimbabwe in 2005.

He released Farai Munashe in 2006 before he disappeared from the music scene.

Munodawafa made a return in 2010 with the album Zvinouraya, which received commendable airplay on local radio stations.
