Report by Munesu Nyakudya

Ndamuwana Jesu is Chirenje’s first album following her video Tirivakundi which she released in November last year and has been popular on ZTV’s Prime Gospel Show and Musical Requests.

The album carries seven tracks. The most popular track is Uniguse (touch me) which features Nael Dolcher from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The lyrics of the song are in Shona and Swahili.

“I am an evangelist of God of the Good Seed International Church and I preach the word of God through music,” Chirenje said.

The talented musician grew up singing in church.

Chirenje has brought a new and different type of gospel music.

She said: “We should do what God wants so that we can inherit eternal life which is supposed to be our destiny.”

Chirenje was inspired by musicians such as Shingisai Suluma, Fungisai  Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Oliver Mtukudzi and her  manager Elly Mhungu.

She promises to work hard and produce another album before the end of this year.
