Madzibaba Medaldo Ruzungunde was at pains to describe how the country was blessed to have “such a God given and inspiring leader” at a mass prayer held in honour of the Zanu PF leader.

The prayer meeting coincided with Mugabe’s 89th birthday celebrations.

“The President is such a God given and inspiring leader and we should all be happy to celebrate his birthday through prayers,” he said.

“We should pray that President Mugabe should be given more years and that he reaches the 120 years mark. He is just a loving father of the nation.”

Madzibaba Ruzungunde was slapped with an 18 months effective jail term for grievously assaulting Elizabeth Doba last October.

He was, however, released from jail three months later after filing an appeal against the sentence.

Madzibaba Ruzungunde assaulted Doba after she threatened to spill the beans on his wayward behavior in July 2009 when she had gone to the church to collect her belongings.

An argument ensued and after the “prophet” got angry, he assaulted Doba with clenched fists and kicked her on the left side of the shoulder and head.

She sustained permanent injuries, which resulted in her using crutches for walking.
