Tomorrow’s match will be followed by the inaugural two-legged CG Msipa Trust Charity Shield next weekend against Shabanie Mine.

FC Platinum, under new coach Tennant Chilumba, have played two international friendly matches against Zambia’s Zanaco and Power Dynamos and tomorrow will be their third before they resume their rivalry with neighbours Shabanie Mine.

Chido Chizondo, the FC Platinum media liaison officer, confirmed tomorrow’s friendly match.

“We will be having a friendly match against Mpumalanga FC here at Mandava on Saturday and then next weekend we shall play Shabanie in the Cephas Msipa tournament,” Chizondo said.

Chilumba, who is new and needs time to settle down at FC Platinum, did not travel to Harare to attend the workshop facilitated by German coach Erich Rutemoeller and will be in charge of his side in the friendly match.

Shabanie Mine chairman Fidelis Chimedza, said they will kick-start the preparations for the 2013 season with the two-legged charity tournament against FC Platinum next weekend.

“We do not have anything this weekend, but we are playing FC Platinum next weekend,” Chimedza said.

Shabanie Mine have enlisted the services of last year’s assistant coach Arnold Jani as head coach after Luke Masomere’s suspension due to the Asiagate scandal.

The CG Msipa Charity Shield first leg will be played next Saturday at Maglas Stadium before the second leg at Mandava the following day.

Chicken Inn beat Hwange 2-1 at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda on Wednesday and will take on Zifa Southern Region Division One side ZPC Hwange at Raylton Sports Club tomorrow as they intensify preparations for the 2013 Premiership.

Thomas Chimenya and Tendai Ndoro were on target for Chicken Inn on a day new boys Cabby Kamhapa and Zephania Ngodzo were in the starting line-up.

Also featuring for Chicken Inn was former Bantu Rovers young Dion Homela, who is eyeing a dance with the Premiership in GameCox colours.

Sikhumbuzo “China” Banda is in charge of Chicken Inn, while Mandla Mpofu attends the Rutemoeller course in Harare. Chicken Inn on Saturday drew 0-0 with Premiership newcomers Tripple B at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge and tomorrow’s game becomes their third friendly match.

Premiership newcomers Triangle from the Lowveld will travel to Mutare to face Buffaloes in another friendly match lined up for the weekend.
