Ivory Coast side AFAD recorded a 5-1 victory over Sierra Leone’s Diamond Stars, with all five goals scored by Mamadou Soro in what was a superb individual performance. He had only netted two goals in 13 League appearances this season before this game.

Cameroon’s Union Douala will have their work cut out in the second leg of their tie against the Liberia Ship Corporate Registry after they could only manage a 2-1 home win on Sunday.

Algeria’s JSM Béjaïa have the upper-hand in their tie with Niger’s Olympic Niamey after a 3-0 home win in the first leg, while FUS Rabat from Morocco edged Gambia’s Real de Banjul 1-0 in their home leg.

Botswana’s Mochudi Centre Chiefs managed a 1-0 away win at Mozambique side Maxaquene that put them in the driving seat in that tie. Former Santos and Vasco da Gama striker Jerome Ramatlhakwane scored for them.

Cameroon’s CotonSport were surprisingly held 0-0 by Uganda Revenue Authority in their fortress of Garoua that left that tie on a knife edge.
Finally, Nigeria’s Enugu Rangers received a walkover 3-0 victory after Sporting Príncipe from Sao Tome e Principe failed to show up for their game.
