Playwright and director Mgcini Nyoni told NewsDay yesterday that the play “seeks to tell about the reality of relationships in Zimbabwe, Africa and in many parts of the world through recounting some of the excuses, lies, deceit and even stupidity that men proffer in order to win a woman’s heart”.

A female actress, Mbonisi Mahonondo will take the audience through the scenes as she alternates between playing a male and female role.

“I intentionally decided to have a solo woman in the play because all these lies and deceptions are told to the female folk,” said Nyoni.

The play will be staged again tomorrow night at the same venue.

“Thereafter, we will take it to Harare. This could happen as early as next month.”

Besides touching on some serious aspects of courtship in this generation, the play will prove humorous as men try every trick in the book to win women.

It was produced by Butshilo Nleya.
