Clad in a green baby set, the musician’s arrival caught the public’s attention and people ran from the terraces to the edges of the pitch to have a glimpse of him.

A handful crowd which had come to witness the game was left in stiches when the comedian marched towards the VIP bay where several artists were seated.

As he greeted fellow artists, the DJs acknowledged his presence bringing the match between parliamentarians and industrialists to a halt.

It took almost thirty minutes for the police and security personal to clear the people and restore order on the pitch.

When he was called into the commentary box, Kapfupi sent people into frenzy with his first joke.

“When we were coming from Beitbridge one day, my wife called me a dog. Along the way, we hit a donkey and I told her that your father (the donkey) was absent-minded,” said Kapfupi.

Asked what type of dressing he was wearing, Baba Nga, as the comedian is affectionately known, said it was a baby set but the fact that he was wearing it meant it was an adult suit.

Later on, he got onto the pitch were musicians and soccer legends were fighting it out in a match that ended in a three-all draw.

Musicians, who have not won against the legends in their previous encounters, pulled up their socks and played relatively well.

Peter Moyo proved to be the strength of the musician’s side as he made some good passes to the strikers.

Tambaoga, Romeo Gasa, Patson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, Josh Hozheri, First Farai and Jah Prayzah were among the musicians who played under the mentorship of Charles Charamba and Oliver Mtukudzi.

Sulumani Chimbetu of the Batai munhu fame was injured four minutes after he got onto the pitch as a substitute.

Another comedian Mabla Kurima who is also known as Mabla 10, worked together with Kapfupi as medics.

However sungura king Alick Macheso, who was billed to be part of the team failed to show up under unclear circumstances.

The match came after the military side Black Rhinos beat Caps United one nil and female journalists lost one goal to nil to Mbare Chimurenga.

Journalists from the broadcast thrashed print media journalists by seven goals to nil.
