Camoletti, who also authored last year’s hit, Boeing Boeing, features three of the characters from it. Don’t Dress for Dinner is set in a farmhouse near Paris, where infidelity and mistiming combine to create chaos and hilarity.

Directed by Chris Charnley, the production opened to massive acclaim on New Year’s Eve and will be running until Saturday. “The storyline is simple: A man plans to have a romantic couple of days with someone other than his wife, but plans go awry and the result is a delightful comedy of errors and absurdity,” said Charnley.

He said the show starred actors such as Ryan Lawrence and Paul Shephard — reprising their Boeing Boeing roles — as well as himself, Thea Cutler, Kyla Render and Christina Hall.

Starting with this production, there is a new development at Reps Theatre for 2013 where patrons can now make telephone bookings through The Spotlight, a benefit previously restricted only to members of The Repertory Players.

“As a new year, we try to provide laughter and enjoyment with the special type of comedy known as farce, which employs a range of techniques to create situations that appear bizarre or impossible, but could indeed happen, and which offer hilarity to audiences,” added Charnley.

Don’t Dress for Dinner is the first production from the Repertory Players for 2013 and follows a highly successful run of the 2012 pantomime, Peter Pan, which played to good houses through most of December.
