KADOMA — Police have called on the public to be on high alert for armed burglars who broke into a farmhouse through the roof and stole a shotgun and an assortment of clothes last week. Report by Own Correspondent

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the robbery which occurred at Hostess Farm, Battlefields in Kadoma.

Mabgweazara said on January 22, complainant Agrippah Mutsenhu, a farmer, left the farmhouse for the Grain Marketing Board Chegutu depot leaving his firearm secured within the building. Upon his return at around 9pm, Mutsenhu was informed by a headman in the area Taurai Zinoni (25) that burglars had broken into the farm house.

The farmer reportedly went into the house to investigate and discovered that the burglars had removed five roof tiles to gain entry. He also realised his licensed shotgun (serial number 96059800) 12 Bore calibre and four live rounds were missing

The matter was reported at Battlefields police who attended the scene, but nothing was recovered.

Mabgweazara said investigations are in progress.
