ROTTERDAM — Rotterdam’s coach Michel Vonk had nothing but praise for the Super Eagles after yesterdays game ended in a 1-0 loss for his side.

He was especially impressed with the attacking style of Nigeria which he called “swarming and relentless”.

“Your team plays physical and quick and then at times they slow it down intentionally and before you know it they are all over you. I told my players to expect a challenge and we were not disappointed.

Their quality is very good” he told supersport.com.

Mikel Obi and Kenneth Omeruo impressed the coach especially.

“The number 10 (JMO) is very good, creative and has good vision. As for Omeruo, he is superb aerially and supports the keeper brilliantly.

However he was also critical of the way the Eagles failed to convert the numerous chances they created.

“Nigeria wasted a lot of chances. They must learn to convert them at Afcon or it will come back to bite them,” he said.

The Dutch coach also concluded his glowing endorsement by wishing the West Africans the best of luck in their bid to hoist the cup for a third time.
