In a match reduced to 37 overs per side, they came together with the chase of 132 stuttering on 44 for 4, but added 79 to ensure victory with nearly 10 overs to spare.

Matthew Pardoe, the Worcestershire batsman, tried to anchor a recovery with 42, but when he was fifth out, bowled by Sean Ervine, the innings fell away. Ervine finished with 3 for 29.
