The format of the competition will be individual stableford.

Club captain Victor Suerga yesterday confirmed the tournament.

“We are having a Thanksgiving Tournament at Hwange Golf Club on Saturday. We expect quite a number of golfers to participate. The tournament will also feature former ZPC Hwange and Hwange Colliery engineers who are now based in South Africa and Botswana,” he said.

Eric Moyo, Thuli Ndlovu, Josiah Ncube, David Ratsakatika, are the golfers expected from South Africa, while Botswana based Joseph Ncube and Moise Dube will also be taking part. Hwange golf Club’s Stephen Simukai, Mubita Njamba, Marko Phiri, Chrispen Lungu, Amos Lungu, Khumbulani Chimhiti and Champion Sibanda will take to the greens on the day.

Club captain Patience Utete, Matron Mguni, Colleta Mhonda and Viola Musengi are the women golfers from Hwange set to feature in the competition, together with Victoria Falls golfers Erick Goto, Raz Dube, Josphat Phiri, Valentine and Francis Maseko.
