Police search for ‘kidnapper’ father


JOHANNESBURG — South African police have launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly kidnapped his seven-year
-old daughter at primary school yesterday morning.

Pura Pahlo has been living in foster care, and was apparently taken by her father Ray with the help of four Zimbabwean nationals posing as police officers at the school. The four have since been arrested.

Police spokesperson Annabelle Middleton said police believed Ray was fleeing to one of the country’s borders shared with Lesotho or Zimbabwe.

“He took the little girl and he left in a grey Mercedes-Benz C230.”

The registration number for the man’s car is SPR 947 GP.
