The 63-member group will be representing Limpopo Province after emerging winners in interregional competitions held in Polokwane in July this year.

In an interview, Peter Thole, the group’s public relations manager, said all was in good shape and that the group was ready for the competitions.

“We are leaving on Wednesday (tomorrow) for Durban. We are more than ready and we are determined to bring the trophy back home.

“We don’t have any problem in our camp. All is in good order and what is left is for us to take over the stage.

“The group is well known for excellence and we will do everything to guard our reputation,” he said.

The popular group is also expected to perform in the United States in September next year.

“The Old Mutual will be also a platform for us to prepare for the US trip next year,” Thole said.

Chitungwiza Harmony Singers were formed by the late Dzangare in 1993 and the group has since become a cappella ensemble in Zimbabwe.

The group has also competed in the Old Mutual Regional Choir Championships in South Africa for many years.

The competition draws the best choirs in southern Africa.

They won several awards.
