Their close rivals and second-placed Hippo Valley dropped two crucial points after they were held to a two-all stalemate by Masvingo United at Mucheke Stadium on Sunday.

Gaza Gunners continued with their fine home run after they defeated Mutare-based side Tenax by a solitary goal.

Triangle have 70 points from 27 matches and Hippo lie second with 64 points from 28 games. If they win their remaining two matches they will end at 70 points.

The Gishon Ntini-coached side need just a point from their remaining matches against Gaza Gunners, away, Mutare City Rovers at home and Masvingo United, away.

Ntini, who was over the moon with the club’s achievement said they don’t want to celebrate yet.

“The game against Chivhu was very tough for us, but we played like champions. Every game we are playing is now tough because every team is looking forward to beat us.

“We are eager to collect maximum points in our remaining matches,” he said.
