Over the weekend, Zesa announced massive power cuts for 18 days to facilitate repairs and maintenance of its power stations in Hwange and Kariba.

The power cuts have forced businesses without power back up to close early. “The power supply situation will be compounded by Unit 3 of Kariba Power Station that will be taken out on 15 December 2012 for a period of six weeks for further technical repairs,” said Zesa spokesperson Fullard Gwasira.
