Tatenda Matemavi of Prince Edward High School will represent Zimbabwe in the African Junior Chess Championships in Tunisia next month after coming out tops in the Under-18 boys category during the same competitions.

He finished with six points out of nine games. He won five, drew two and lost two. In one of his most prized career wins, he beat Matt Pon of South Africa in the final round of the tourney.

However, he is struggling to get sponsorship and is appealing for well wishers to assist him and his coach who will accompany him. He is reachable on 0772 818 386 or on 0773 210 741.
