Chinyoka, who has specialised in human resources management, general management and marketing as well as management training, brings in a wealth of experience acquired from local and international organisations.

The new commercial director was upbeat about her appointment and the challenges ahead in the face of competition in the media industry.

“I’ve done almost every soft skills training that is required to manage teams. From that perspective, I know what it takes to make a business profitable, while ensuring that customers get what they want. I am customer-centric,” she said yesterday.

Chinyoka, who has worked as a brand and marketing executive for Edgars Stores Limited and for several companies in the United Kingdom, including London Transport, said it was important for AMH to properly manage competition.

“The competition is there and we have to manage it,” she said. “My vision is to turn AMH into a world class media organisation.  I want to ensure that it provides a product that Zimbabwe can be proud of. With continuous improvement, we can do it.”

She said the country was currently going through exciting times and she would use her experience to enrich the media group.

“When you have worked overseas, you can benchmark how you are doing, so that exposure is important. We have to apply the things that we learned abroad home so that we can make things better,” she said.

Rita holds an MA in Human Resources Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, Certificate in Personnel Management, Diploma in Management Studies and a Diploma in Marketing.

AMH chairperson Trevor Ncube yesterday said: “Rita brings a wealth of leadership and management experience to AMH and we are absolutely delighted that she is joining our team of winning professionals. We love her passion for talent and the customer.”
