Judgment for Patrick Jiri, son of the late Jairosi Jiri, for allegedly indecently assaulted his brother’s stepdaughter, has been postponed to Friday.

Judgment in the case involving Patrick Jiri, son of the late philanthropist Jairosi Jiri, who is being charged for allegedly indecently assaulting his younger brother’s 12-year-old stepdaughter, has been postponed to Friday.

Report by Richard Muponde Jiri (57), who has been languishing in remand prison following his arrest three weeks ago, is denying the charge.

Charges against Jiri are that on September 8, his young brother who stays outside Jairos Jiri Centre in Bulawayo, sent his stepdaughter accompanied by two of her siblings to get vegetables from their uncle’s home at the late philanthropist’s centre.

Jiri allegedly ordered his maid to prepare them the vegetables while he was chatting to the children.

He allegedly later invited the juvenile to sit on his lap and she complied. Jiri allegedly started fondling her breasts, back and private parts in full view of her siblings.

On their way back, the juvenile’s siblings inquired from her what their uncle was doing to her and advised her that they would report to their mother what had happened, when they arrived home.

When they arrived home the girls advised the mother about the abuse and she in turn made a police report, leading to Jiri’s arrest.
