And to add the icing on the cake, Simba Sithole scored his first goal for Dynamos after joining the Harare giants last month.

  After last Wednesday’s bleep against Chicken Inn in Bulawayo, Dynamos (55 points) wasted no time in taking advantage of Highlanders’ (53 points) first loss of the season against Monomotapa on Saturday, racing to a 2-0 lead in the opening half.

  It was the perfect response that coach Kalisto Pasuwa called for on Saturday and an inspiring performance heading into Week 25 against Hwange at the Colliery.

  A howler by Shabanie Mine goalkeeper Victor Twaliki in the 30th minute gifted the hosts the lead before Smart Muchabaiwa scored a spectacular own goal in the 44th minute to cushion Dynamos.

  Former Caps United and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Sithole increased Dynamos’ lead with a rising shot from inside the box six minutes after the restart, his first goal for the club since his mid-season transfer move from South Africa.

  Farai Mupasiri then sealed the rout with a shot into the open net on 72nd minutes as Dynamos capitalised on Highlanders’ Saturday defeat at Monomotapa to take charge of the title race. Francis Kanda scored a face saver for the Zvishavane-based side two minutes after Mupasiri had scored.

  “It’s a good feeling to be back at the top. It now requires the players to put more effort to remain there. We have been telling the boys that we need to be consistent if we are to retain the championship. We started
