“We will win and I will score,” Fiyado told reporters at news conference in Harare yesterday. “I have settled well at Caps. I am improving in every aspect of my game and am confident that we will win against Buffaloes.”

With a top four finish now out of sight, the Harare giants who have rediscovered a winning formula after a lengthy barren spell, now want to win the lucrative cup.

United coach Taurai Mangwiro said they would want to appease their supporters by winning the Mbada Diamonds Cup. “A top four finish is now out of our reach and we have targeted to win the Mbada Diamonds Cup. With incentives in the tournament it will be good if we win the cup. We would also want to appease our supporters who have supported the team throughout. It will be difficult against Buffaloes, but we are confident of progressing to the next round,” said Mangwiro.

The Caps gaffer said they had a clean bill of health. “We have got depth in the squad and there could be a few changes to the team that played against Monomotapa. We also have four players back who were on suspension David Rediyoni, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Tendai Samanja and defender Asani Nhongo.”

In Mutare, Caps opponents Buffaloes have vowed to oust the Green Machine. The army side have been impressive whenever they are not playing at their home turf, Sakubva Stadium.

The Saul Chaminuka coached side will be welcoming the services of their exciting midfielders from suspension Phineus Bhamusi and former Zimbabwe under 20 national Roy ‘Apama’ Mwenga.

Ballafoes spokesperson Tendai Chitowa said: “The players are already in Chiredzi to acclimatise with the hot temperatures of the low veld. We are confident that we are going to progress to the next stage because we have also managed to raise morale in our camp by increasing the players’ winning bonuses.”

Mbada Quarterfinals fixtures Saturday: Caps United v Buffaloes (Gibbo), Shabanie Mine v FC Platinum (Mandava). Sunday: Dynamos v Gunners (Torwood), Highlanders v Monomotapa (Colliery).
