The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is set to assist Tanzania transform its tourism board into a fully-fledged tourism authority.

In a statement ZTA said the collaborative effort was a sign of confidence in ZTA’s capacity to deliver consultancy services of the highest international standards.

Chairperson of the Tanzania Tourist Board Charles Sanga said: “We want to see the Tanzania Tourist Board graduating and transforming to become the Tanzania Tourism Authority having learnt from the experiences and technical services offered by ZTA.”

ZTA chief executive Karikoga Kaseke led his team in making technically-specific detailed presentations in industry management, finance and administration, market research, product development and investment promotion and destination marketing to the Tanzania Tourist Board.

Kaseke said: “We are excited to partner with the Tanzania Tourist Board in its transition to being a fully-fledged Tanzania Tourism Authority, particularly as we break new ground in areas of co-operation with Tanzania.”

A Tanzanian delegation is expected to participate at fifth edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair from 18 to 21 October 2012 in the spirit of co-operation between the two organisations.

A further visit by a team from the Tanzania Tourist Board to be attached to the ZTA was planned for November 2012.
