A Zanu PF-aligned youth empowerment outfit, Upfumi Kuvadiki/Inotho Kwabatsha, has taken aim at party leader President Robert Mugabes lieutenants describing them as malcontents out to reverse the partys indigenisation drive.

President of the group Alson Darikayi said his organisation would not hesitate to expose members of Mugabes team who were anti-indigenisation.

If our President (Mugabe) does not stand vocal and principled as he is on this matter (of indigenisation) we will consider him as having failed our generation and the future, said Darikayi.

A good leader, as he is, will always fight for the majority and not for his stomach only. We will salute him unreservedly on this. The paradox is that we need his political stamina so that economic benefits are delivered to the majority.

Unfortunately, there are malcontents in his team that are in reverse mode day in day out. As we turn the corner we will expose them unashamedly, said Darikayi.

He also castigated the partys erstwhile friends, the Chinese, for choking the informal sector.

We need Chinese solidarity but we cannot have these erstwhile friends coming to cook sadza, maguru and amathumbu for us and after that we take tooth picks and then think here are investors, said Garikayi.

Under the controversial indigenisation law, the retail sector is reserved for indigenous investors. Garakayi also took a swipe at heads of parastatals for closing up empowerment opportunities.
