Prominent businessman Sam Levy, who died in Harare on Tuesday, was buried yesterday afternoon at the Jewish Cemetery in Warren Hills.

Present at the burial was Media, Information and Publicity minister Webster Shamu and officials from the ministry of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development.

Speaking after the burial, Levy’s wife Gloria said her husband’s death was a blow to both the family and Zimbabwe.

“He was a people’s man and his death is a great loss to us and the entire business fraternity of this country that he so dearly loved,” said Gloria.

On Thursday, senior Zanu PF officials including Vice-President Joice Mujuru and Webster Shamu went to pay their condolences to the Levy family describing the late businessman as a “pillar” to their party.
