Lands and Rural Resettlement Minister Herbert Murerwa has returned to South Africa where he is receiving treatment for cancer, Zanu PF has confirmed.
Party spokesperson Rugare Gumbo on Tuesday said the former Finance minister was unwell.
He has been battling with cancer for some time and is undergoing chemotherapy.
I met him recently and his condition has, however, improved significantly, said Gumbo without divulging the nature of cancer Murerwa is suffering from.
The Goromonzi senator has served in various Cabinet portfolios in President Robert Mugabes government.
Last year, there were reports Murerwa had to be airlifted to South Africa for treatment when his condition deteriorated.
