Former Hwange FC captain Gerald Ndlovu is back with the coalminers and is part of the technical team’s plans for the crucial first leg first round tie of the Orange Caf Confederation Cup against Sudan’s El Amal Atbara on Sunday at the Colliery.

Technical manager Tennant Chilumba said Ndlovu had been training with the team and he could be part of the team that plays El Amal on Sunday.

Ndlovu was transfer-listed together with Obert Moyo and Andrew Chuma for indiscipline and the former skipper previously tried his luck with Highlanders, playing in a friendly match for the Bulawayo football giants against Chrome Stars in Kwekwe.

Chilumba says he expects Sunday’s clash to be tougher than the preliminary round matches against Zanzibar’s Jamhuri and changes were expected in the team.

“It’s a crucial match and we are looking forward to scoring more goals at home.

“I know these games are about goal aggregates. There will definitely be changes to the team, Gerald Ndlovu is back but of course he is no longer the captain. But he is part of the squad that is playing on Sunday,” Chilumba said.

Ndlovu, a central defender, was last year instrumental in the success of the the Hwange squad that came fourth in the Castle Lager Premiership, earning them the slot to represent the country in the Confederation Cup.
