Former Mthwakazi Liberation Front (MLF) secretary-general John Gazi who is incarcerated for fraud charges was on Tuesday further remanded to month-end on a fresh theft case.

Gazi is already serving a 10-month jail term for fraud involving a property in the city.

He also faces treason charges at the High Court together with MLF secretary-general Paul Siwela and the party’s deputy secretary for security, Charles Thomas.

Bulawayo regional magistrate Godwill Sengweni further remanded him to February 29, the day he is supposed to be released from jail.

Gazi has not yet been asked to plead to the theft charge.

Last year, he was convicted for clandestinely acquiring a property in the city and is being charged with theft after he alleged converted $2 420 in rentals for the building owned by Margaret Zimbowora to his own use.
