SELOUS — A female rapist and her male accomplice are on the prowl after allegedly raping a 30-year-old man in a bush at the 70km-peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway early this month.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the incident, adding investigations were in progress.

Mabgweazara said on February 3 at around 7am, a male hitch-hiker from Blue Rock Mine in Chinhoyi was looking for transport along the Chinhoyi-Chegutu Road when an unmarked twin-cab pulled over and offered him a lift.

“Upon approaching the intersection of the Harare-Bulawayo Highway and Chegutu-Chinhoyi Road, the car turned towards Harare instead of heading towards Chegutu town.

“The complainant asked to be dropped, but was ordered to shut up. After Selous shopping centre, the vehicle turned left into a gravel road and drove for a distance before stopping. The complainant was forced out of the vehicle and was forced to drink a red liquid and got drunk and crazy for sex,” said the police spokesperson.

The woman reportedly then forced the complainant into having sex with her five times using a female condom.

Following the alleged bouts of attacks, the complainant reportedly fell unconscious and was dumped at the scene while the woman is suspected to have taken the female condom loaded with semen before driving away.

The rape victim was later rescued by a passerby before reporting the matter to the police.
