Castle Lager Premier league outfit Black Mambas have started preparations for the 2012 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League by conducting trials.

Their wish is to replace Brian Abbas Amidu, who has joined South African glamour club Kaizer Chiefs and Luckson Kaisa, who joined city rivals Caps United.

Mambas head coach John Toto Ncube said: At the moment we are conducting trials and I am very happy that over 50 players have attended the sessions.

We are hoping to get a few players from that big number . . . at least 10 players.

The main aim is to strengthen all departments from the goalkeeper to the strikeforce.

Preparations for the new season are now in full swing with Mutare army side Buffaloes in their third week. Highlanders and Dynamos have also started.

FC Platinum are in Kariba until the end of the month while Hwange are due to travel to South Africa this weekend for two matches against Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates.
