Junior tennis players off to Namibia

An 11-member strong Zimbabwe Junior Tennis team leaves the country tomorrow for the African Junior Championships Zone VI qualifiers in Namibia.

The qualifiers run from January 8-14.

The team comprises players from various age groups from the Under-12 to Under-16 in both girls’ and boys’ categories who will be looking to raise the country’s flag high by qualifying for the finals pencilled for Egypt this year.

Tennis Zimbabwe administrator Cliff Nhokwara was optimistic the junior players will be equal to the task in Namibia.

“I am very hopeful that they are going to fly the country’s flag high by qualifying for the finals in Egypt and I believe in the team as they are talented,” he said.
