Dynamos’ perennial financial woes in the African Safari are now a thing of the past after a local financial institution pledged to bankroll the team’s campaign in the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.

BancABC Bank, who are the club’s official sponsors, went a gear up when they unveiled a $165 000 sponsorship package that will cater for all the team’s travelling costs and allowances for players.

In addition, the bank also committed itself to providing kits that will be used by the team in the Champions League campaign.

BancABC has also devoted time to continue sponsoring their annual BancABC Sup8r Cup next season, with indications pointing to improved funding.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony at the bank’s headquarters in the capital on Friday, BancABC managing director Hashmon Matemera said:

“We have decided to reward Dynamos for making us proud in winning both the league and Mbada Diamonds Cup. We feel that the players and the technical team should not bother themselves on where the money for tickets and allowances will come from. This sponsorship will give them enough time to prepare for their matches. Like what other sponsors have been doing, we would pay directly to the service providers.”

Dynamos on Friday revealed their total budget for the champions league amounts to $650 000. However, the bank said were Dynamos to exhaust all the $165 000, they would again chip in and provide for the balances.

“If the team fails to progress past the first round and they have used only $10 000, we will withdraw the $155 000,” said Matemera.

Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa applauded the sponsorship.
