South African disc jockey DJ Fisherman and hip-hop trio Teargas are billed to perform in Harare on Friday.

Teargas will stage a show at Club Amnesia while DJ Fisherman spins the wheel at Café Noir.

Teargas’s hit tracks include Mhlobo Wami, Party 101, Dark or Blue and Go Away. The gold selling multi-award-winning outfit is made up of three talented young men Ntokozo “KO” Mdluli, Ezee “Ma-E” Hanabe and Bantu “Ntukza” Hanabe. Ma-E and Ntukza are brothers.

The trio has received immense recognition for their music, which communicates messages of hope and aims to raise social awareness within the masses on an array of social ills which affect society. Inspired by South Africa’s political past when police used teargas to disperse protesting crowds in the townships, the three opted to call themselves Teargas. Their music aims at “dispersing” socio-economic problems like crime, disease and poverty.

Durban’s most acclaimed house music producer, DJ Fisherman (real name Sifiso Mjoli), will be supported by local DJs, Dee Nosh, L-Roy, Maxey and Carter that will be on rotation on the decks during the show.

Fisherman has produced tracks House Animation, Uyoysholo Wena and Umlilo For Big Nuz. In 2010 he released his own album titled Fish Tank from which Happy Song was a hit. The album also features night club dance floor hits like Afro Spirits and Amerido Remix.

Fisherman is part of the Afrotainment stable which also houses successful artists DJ Tira, Big Nuz and DJ Cyndo.

Over the years, South African artists and DJs, Big Nuz, Liquideep, DJ Cyndo, DJ Cleo, Professor, Judith Sephuma, DJ Waxxy, Biblos, T’zozo, Malaika, Characta, Winnie Khumalo, Brickz, Dan Tshanda, Platform One, Spikiri, Speedy, and DJ Sbu have performed in Zimbabwe.
