The Girls College Tennis Centre Singles League rounds up its round robin matches with 21 games expected to be played at the Bulawayo Athletic Club (BAC) on Saturday.

Twenty-three players, pooled into three groups will be at the BAC to finish of the round-robin stage to qualify for the quarter-finals, which will be held on November 26, with the finals staged on the same day.

Pool A, which consists of Rennie Chikunichawa, Prosper Jaya, Prince Ncube of Bulawayo, Adam Joelson, Keletso Malame, Ronald Munzvengwa and Moses Muti of GC are almost done with their matches with only three games remaining.

Thesly Mufunda, Shungu Mberengwa of Nust, Bryn Langley of Esigodini, Stephen Chiwanza and Godwell Muhoni of Midlands State University, Mike Sibanda and Precious Munhumumwe of Bulawayo are in Pool B with seven matches remaining.

Pool C has Nkanyiso Sibanda, Matie Coetzee, Raggs Joelson, Dave Simba, Zenzo Ndlovu and Stanley Ncube of Bulawayo, Gavin Magenga of MSU and Nigel Ncube of GC, who have to play 13 matches on Saturday.

After today’s matches, the two best from each pool qualify for the quarter-finals.

Three best number threes from each pool, will also battle it to decide two, who will also make it to the quarter finals.

Mufunda, the league’s secretary on Friday said today will be a busy day at BAC and the league which started on 29 October has been very entertaining and competitive.

He is one of the participants and likely to make it to the quarter-finals from Pool B.
