South African award-winning kwaito and house music artist, Professor, undoubtedly the man of the moment, is billed to perform in Harare on Thursday evening.

He will touch down at the Harare International Airport on Thursday for a once-off performance at Club Amnesia. This will be his second performance in Zimbabwe after performing in Bulawayo earlier on this year.

The successful musician is well known in entertainment circles for his hit tracks Jezebel, Imoto, Lento and Jimaphi which are all club bangers from one album.

Organisers of the events, DJs T Bass and P Styles (Bass & Styles) said they had decided to host the show on a Thursday to be different.

“We are trying to move away from the usual shows which are held on weekends. We want to do something different so we decided to launch this concept by bringing Professor who is quite popular in Zimbabwe,” he said.

He added the best dressed woman at the event would walk away with $2 000.

“We have noticed women go an extra mile when dressing for shows and nobody ever encourages them. We have decided to award them for their efforts by giving them a prize of some sort,” he said.

T Bass said Professor was as good as a brother to Zimbabweans because he is under the University of Kalawa Jazmee, a stable run by Zimbabwe’s DJ Oskido. The organisers of the event said they would host an international artist after every two weeks on a Thursday. Some of the artists from South Africa billed to perform in the country include DJ Fisherman, Fresh, Euphonic, and Teargas.

Professor will leave the country on Friday for the Channel O Music Video Awards which will be held in South Africa on Friday.
