Alexio Kawara’s album Tose was launched at an exquisite function at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Harare last Wednesday.

Attending the function were a handful of musicians that included Diana Samkange, Tererai Mugwadi, Nesto, Energy Mutodi, and the producer MacDonald MacDee Chidavaenzi among others.

Speaking at the launch, National Arts Council director, Elvas Mari said he was pleased with the way Alexio has progressed in his career.

He said he was happy the young musician was determined to show he was a great artiste.

“I am happy that Alexio, together with a few other young artistes, have not let the world define their careers,” said Mari.

What stole the hearts of many was however the first live performance of the title track which left more than half of the attendees grooving on the dance floor.

The track, Tose, which preaches love and unity proved to be the most popular with its dancehall feel. After Alexio’s first performance then came Sam Unclesam Girezha leaving people in stitches with his comedy.

The funds raised from the auction were donated to New Start Children’s home in Waterfalls.

Speaking on the sidelines of the launch Alexio expressed gratitude to his fans and the corporate world for supporting him.

“I had a target and I am happy I delivered close to the target.

“I am also happy that all invited guests came as a sign of respect and honor for the work that we are doing. “I also would like to take this opportunity to thank Savanna Tobacco for their support,” he said.

The launch was held at the corner of First Street and George Silundika last weekend.
