Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo and Sulumani “Sulu” Chimbetu will on Friday stage a joint gig at City Sports Bar in the city centre.

It will be the first time for the musicians to share the stage at the popular bar which is located along Kaguvi Street. Both have performed separately at the venue on numerous occasions before.

Chimbetu said the show was the beginning of a partnership that would see the duo holding joint shows more often around the country.

Both musicians command huge followings and combining their efforts is likely to yield tremendous results. They recently thrilled audiences at Heroesplush gala in Mount Darwin when they performed a few songs together.

Moyo and Alick Macheso joined Chimbetu on stage as he played the song Saina and combined expertly to the delight of thousands of music fans that attended the event.

Macheso played the bass guitar while Moyo backed Chimbetu on vocals during the memorable performance.

Moyo and Chimbetu have confirmed that they will perform at least one song together on Friday.

“We will obviously do one or two songs together. We always combine that way when we have joint shows and our fans enjoy it very much. We will never short-change our fans. We actually promise to do something they have never seen before,” said an official from Moyo’s Utakataka Express.

Show organiser Biggie Chinoperekwei said bringing the musicians together was a way of giving patrons and music fans in general exceptional entertainment value.

“We have hosted the musicians separately on a number of shows and realised that fans enjoy their shows here. They have managed to attract commendable crowds and we expect a full house at this combined show. The enquiries we have received since we started marketing the gig show that response will be excellent,” said Chinoperekwei.

Chimbetu is currently making waves with his latest album Non-Stop which features hit tracks like Kwedu and Ndakuvara. He consistently stages shows in Harare and other places.

On the other hand, Moyo is an entertainer par excellence who loves travelling across the country with his youthful and energetic outfit.

Both musicians have stunning choreography and fans are likely to witness a memorable show on Friday.
