Prolific dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu has embarked on a series of shows that will see him revisit many Rufaro Marketing beerhalls in the next few months.

The initiative, which has already seen him perform at Gwenyambira in Mufakose last weekend, will also see him perform at Traveller in Dzivaresekwa (DZ).

According to Sulu’s manager, Knowledge Nkoma, the move was brought about by their need as a band to revisit their roots.

“We owe our success today to those same places and we should not shun them now that we are bigger than we were before.

“Even Mudhara Chopper owed his success to places like Wedza Spaceman and for that reason we are going to Spaceman next week after the DZ show tomorrow,” said Nkoma.

Nkoma said their music is music for the ordinary people and the downtrodden and he hoped with this new initiative they manage to give their fans the entertainment they expect.

The Rufaro Marketing beerhalls shows have, however, proven to be popular with revellers who are often left out as show organisers and promoters prefer places where they can sell their own beverages so as to cushion themselves from losses.

Meanwhile, it promises to be a long night for dendera lovers tonight when Sulu and crew gyrate at Megga 1 bar in Graniteside.

The venue has proven to be popular with dendera fans and it looks set to get even better with the end of the winter season.

Nkoma urged Orchestra Dendera Kings’ fans to come in their numbers on the night for they are going to be treated to a rare act of perfection.
