Talented gospel singer Olinda Marowa of the Ndinouya Baba fame is set to release a DVD that will include tracks from her previous two albums.

The songbird said the videos will be for the album Nyasha that was released in 2008 and this year’s project entitled Mufaro Wangu.

“I am currently working on producing a DVD that will be out soon comprising of videos from my two albums. The DVD will also include a promotional video from my second album entitled Nhowo,” said Marowa.

“I am doing the Nhowo video in response to my fans’ requests. I respect my fans and I always listen to what they say. This video will be my way of respecting and honouring them.”

Like any other artist, Marowa is also worried about the issue of piracy.

“We are working hard as artists, but we feel robbed by those who are involved in the pirating of our music. They are reaping where they have not sowed.

“Our appeal is to the government to come up with stiff penalties for those found guilty of piracy. They must be heavily punished so as to protect our work as artists.”

She also appealed to genuine promoters to support the music industry.

“My appeal is to have genuine promoters who would come aboard and revive the music industry in our country not bogus promoters who are only after money,” she said.

Marowa has urged the upcoming artists to stand firm so as to achieve their goals in everything they do.

“To my fellow upcoming artists I just want to say keep focused and don’t listen to people that aim at destroying your career through unjustified criticism.”

The gospel songstress will be performing at the Harare Gardens on the September 24 in a show that has been organised by Kingstones Entertainment together with the likes of Sebastian Magacha, Mai naBaba Charamba, Bethany Pasinawako, Blessing Shumba and Kudzi Nyakudya among others.
