Golfers from around the country are set to take to the greens for the Harry Allen Mine Entra Classic tournament at Harry Allen Golf Club in Bulawayo on June 23.

The tournament will be sponsored by Bulawayo-based company Chefer Fly and will be played under the four-ball better-ball Stableford format.

Vice-captain of Harry Allen Dumisani Ndlovu yesterday told NewsDay Sport that they would host the tournament and expected to attract large field of golfers.

“We are inviting golfers from Kwekwe, Hwange and Harare. The tournament will be open to everyone and we expect a large field,” he said.

Ndlovu said they expected golfers who include Cephas Ncube, Robson Dumane from Hwange, Christopher Jairos from Harare as well as Arthur Kanyimu from Kadoma to take part.

Golfers from Harry Allen Club who include its public relations manager Moses Mlalazi, vice-captain Ndlovu, Victor Tall, Mufaro Chivonivoni, former Highlanders chairman Rodger Muhlwa, William Tshuma, Kwangwari Kwangwari and Shepherd Huni, would participate in the tournament.

Lorraine Huwa, Rodnah Mutasa, Acy Zerf and Linda Ruvaya are the female golfers expected on the day.

Ndlovu urged golfers to turn out in their numbers for the tournament.

“We are expecting a big crowd of golfers. The course has been cut well and the greens are nice. We have also put new sand on the bunkers. The course is very beautiful,” he said.
