Sports Reporter ZRP Raiders leapt to the top of the Bulawayo Volleyball Association league in the women’s section after winning their league match against Highlanders at Drill Hall on Saturday. Only two games were played at the weekend as some of the players in the league are preparing for the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Co-operation Organisation games. ZRP Raiders won the first set 25-23 before winning the second set 25-10. They finished off the game by winning 25-18 in the last set. ZRP Raiders now top the log standings with four points after their second victory in the league against Highlanders.

In the only game in the men’s category, Railstars recorded their first victory of the season when they beat The Great Churchill (TGC) 3-1.

TGC put up a good show in the first set dismissing Railstars 25-15.

Railstars came back a better side in a closely-contested second set which they won 25-23.

In the third set, Railstars recorded 25-18 victory before they wrapped up the game in the fourth set, winning 25-16.

Railstars are now second on the log in the men’s category with one victory and one loss.

Unit Fairbrdge top the log in the men’s section with four points while Railstars are a point behind in second spot.

TGC are third on the log with three points.
