Reigning netball national champions Railstars continued to prove their mettle in the Super League when they beat Nehanda Nyakasikana Queens 34-33 in a game at Chikurubi Prison Complex in Harare on Saturday.

It was the Bulawayo side’s eleventh straight victory in the 2011 season.

In the first quarter Railstars recorded a 10-8 victory over the Harare side with the second quarter reaching an 8-8 stalemate.

Nyakasikana won the third quarter 9-7 before Railstars came back more determined in last quarter and won 9-8.

Railstars coach Janota Phiri was ecstatic that the girls had continued with their winning form.

“My girls played very well and they played as a team. It was a fair game and we are happy with the results because it was the eleventh victory for the team,” he said.

Daphine Agere played as the goal defender and was assisted by goalkeeper Priscillar Dube.

The wing defender was Jerita Mushunye while Perpetua Siyachitema played as the centre.

The wing attacker was Melody Ncube.

Zanele Ngwenyama and Pauline Jani played as goal attacker and goal shooter respectively.

Railstars host Rennaisance at Raylton Sports Club in Bulawayo on Saturday.
